Strategies That Actually Fit Your Life
Our Comprehensive Solutions
A decision in one part of your finances tends to move the others. Selling a business changes the tax picture, retiring three years earlier changes how much risk a portfolio can reasonably carry, and a new grandchild changes what the estate documents need to say. We started Artisan Wealth Management to handle those connections in one place, working from an approach closer to craftsmanship than to product selection, which means understanding your goals, your obligations, and your circumstances before shaping anything around them. Where you begin depends on what is in front of you right now.
Financial Planning
What is your money supposed to accomplish before you need it?
Retirement, tuition, a second home, and the timing of a career change all compete for the same dollars, and the tradeoffs are rarely obvious from the outside. We learn your full financial picture, then help you put language to what you want the money to do. From there we model your current path against a few crafted alternatives, using planning software that makes the comparison something you can see rather than something you have to take on faith.
- Retirement income planning, including how withdrawals are sequenced across your accounts
- Education funding for children or grandchildren
- Cash reserve targets sized to your near-term obligations
Investment Management and Portfolio Construction
Does every dollar you own know what it is for?
Accounts accumulate over a career without anyone stepping back to look at them together. An old 401(k), a brokerage account opened years ago, and whatever was recommended before can overlap, contradict each other, or leave a gap nobody noticed. We build portfolios around the job each portion of your wealth has to do. Money needed soon gets handled differently from money meant to compound for decades, and because the stable layers come first, the growth portion can carry more productive risk.
- Portfolio construction matched to your objectives and risk tolerance
- Decisions about which accounts hold which investments
- Ongoing review and rebalancing as your circumstances change
Insurance and Risk Management
What happens to the plan if you are not there to carry it out?
An early death or a serious accident can undo years of disciplined saving faster than any market downturn. We look at what your household would need if the income stopped, compare that against the coverage you already carry, and identify the difference. Employer benefits often cover less than expected once the details get read closely.
- Life insurance sized to your family's actual obligations
- Disability income coverage during your earning years
- Review of policies you already own, including coverage through work
Estate Planning and Charitable Giving
Do your beneficiary forms still agree with your intentions?
Beneficiary designations signed a decade ago generally control where an account goes, regardless of what a more recent will says, and that disconnect surfaces at the worst possible moment for the people left behind. Working alongside your qualified estate planning attorney, we review how your accounts are titled and who is named on them, then align those details with the documents you have already executed. Charitable giving gets built into the strategy rather than added once everything else is settled.
- Account titling and beneficiary designations aligned with your Will, Trust, and Power of Attorney
- Coordination with your estate planning attorney
- Charitable and legacy giving incorporated into your overall strategy
Tax Coordination
Who is looking at your investments and your tax return side by side?
One year can carry more tax consequence than the ten before it, usually the year with something unusual in it. A business sale, the first year of retirement, or a large capital gain each open a window that closes on December 31st. Smaller opportunities surface all year, including holdings worth less than you paid for them, which can be sold to offset gains realized elsewhere. We watch for those as they arise and keep your CPA or tax advisor informed while decisions are still open. We do not provide tax advice or prepare returns.
- Tax-loss harvesting in taxable accounts, with attention to wash sale rules
- Ongoing communication with your CPA or tax professional, not only at filing season
- Withdrawal sequencing across taxable, tax-deferred, and Roth accounts reviewed alongside your tax preparer
